Just like with any other goals that you set for yourself, whether you meet your financial goals will depend on your level of commitment. It is important that you push through that feeling of “I will just do it later” or “I don’t think I will be able to save that much”.

Here are some Save Money Hound tips to get you going to start saving money and be on the way to achieve your financial goals.

A small step is one of a thousand steps
Make that first step to start saving money and you will feel that you have made some progress, even if only a little bit.

Set your financial goals

If you don’t know where you want to get, then it doesn’t matter where you are going.  If you want to save $10,000 by July 2010, then write down your financial goal. “I will save $10,000 by July 2010”.

Monitor your saving goals
A little at a time does it.  Even if you save $100 every fortnight, it will all accumulate.  Track how you well are progressing with your savings goals and give yourself a pat on the back for having achieved so much to date.

Be accountable to someone else

Here is where your lovely spouse or best friend comes into play.  Acknowledge that you have a financial goal to save a certain amount of dollars by a certain time.  Write it down and make yourself accountable to your dear spouse every week that you have.

Good luck with your financial goals and get saving!
